IRS Says File OnLine For Quick Refund

If you are expecting a tax refund from your 2008 tax filing and want the money quickly, the IRS is recommending that you file electronically. E-filing of federal income tax results in quicker refunds and tend to be more accurate than filing your taxes manually.

David Williams, director of electronic tax administration for the IRS said “We think particularly this year, given the economic situation, many taxpayers are going to be focused on getting their tax refund as soon as possible, and e-filing is the way to do it,”.

Taxpayers who file electronically and accept their refunds via direct deposit usually get their federal refunds in as few as 10 days. It can take six to eight weeks for those who file paper returns to see their refunds.

Where can you file electronically?
You can go to your tax accountant, CPA, tax preparation services or do it yourself. In fact, doing it yourself is easier than you think. There are many online tax services that allow you to file free.
